Who these terms are with
This website and the services described on it are provided by AIwebguy, the trading name of White Design & Media, run by Louis White in York. You can reach me at hello@louiswhite.co.uk or on 07852 471 965. By using this site or engaging me to build your website, you agree to these terms.
Using this website
The information here is meant to help you decide whether to work with me. I keep it accurate and up to date as best I can, but I cannot promise it is complete or error free at every moment. The examples in the portfolio, including rankings and Lighthouse scores, are real results for those specific projects at the time they were recorded. They are not a promise of the same outcome for your site. Search results depend on your market, your competition and plenty of things outside anyone's control.
Quotes, pricing and payment
The New Site Build is a fixed price of £2,000 for the scope set out on the site. Larger or bespoke work is quoted individually. I confirm the price and what it includes in writing before any work starts. When you are happy with the plan, I take a 50 per cent deposit to book the work in, with the balance due on completion. Prices do not include any third-party costs I flag to you in advance, such as a domain name or paid software, or VAT where it applies.
The "beat any agency price" promise
Where the site says I will beat a genuine agency price, that offer applies only to a legitimate, written quote from a bona fide web design agency, supported by evidence such as the actual quote document, and only for work of equivalent scope and quality to what I produce. It does not apply to freelancer or marketplace listings, template or do-it-yourself website builders, unverified or informal figures, or quotes that are not genuinely comparable in what they include or the standard of work.
Where a comparison is not like for like, or a quote cannot be verified, I reserve the right to decline the price match. The aim is honest value, not a race to the bottom.
Your website and ownership
Once your invoice is paid in full, the finished website and its content are yours to keep, as agreed in your project. I keep the right to show the work in my portfolio and to mention that I built it, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Any third-party components, fonts or stock assets stay under their own licences.
Hosting and what happens after year one
The New Site Build includes the first year of hosting, an SSL certificate and business email. After the first year, keeping the site hosted, secure and online is arranged separately, and I will always tell you the cost before it applies. There is no automatic contract you cannot leave.
Liability
I will always do my best work for you. That said, to the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost business, arising from the site or these terms. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot be limited by law, such as death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the current version will always be on this page with a new review date.
